I am Joining The Magicians Table @ Playhouse Square.

I have some news I’ve been sitting on for a few weeks, and I finally get to talk about it. I was asked to join the cast of The Magicians Table, the immersive magic show currently running at Playhouse Square, and I am performing select dates through November. If you live in Cleveland and you haven’t heard about this show yet, you’re about to.

What The Magicians Table Actually Is

The Magicians Table is not a stage show where you sit in a dark theater and watch someone far away perform. It is set up at Cibréo Privato on East 14th Street in Playhouse Square, and the entire room is built around close-up magic. Guests sit at semicircular tables with eleven other people, and over the course of the evening you get visited by multiple magicians who perform right in front of you. They’re close enough to touch, close enough that you can’t explain it away as a camera trick or clever lighting.

The show originally came to Cleveland through a partnership with Right Angle Entertainment, and it has done well enough that Playhouse Square already extended it. It is now scheduled through December 6. A loose story runs through the night about a legendary illusionist and the friends who gather to celebrate him, and there’s a pre-show lounge, handcrafted cocktails, and live music. It plays more like a night out than a magic show, and that is exactly why it works. The cast rotates and includes magicians who have appeared on shows like Penn & Teller: Fool Us, AGT, & Showtime at the Apollo, so you’re getting real caliber talent at your table, not a novelty act.

Why This Matters to Me

I have been doing comedy magic in Cleveland for over twenty years, mostly for corporate events, private parties, and virtual audiences all over the country. Most of what I do is built around a stage or a ballroom: big group energy, audience volunteers, that kind of thing. The Magicians Table is a completely different experience. It is intimate, it’s unscripted in the moment, and it puts me a foot away from someone’s hands with nowhere to hide. Getting to be part of a show with this kind of production value, alongside magicians of this level, in my own city, is not something I take lightly. Not every city gets theatrical experiences like this, and I am genuinely proud it landed here and that I get to be part of it.
